Top 5 Dark Souls 3 Best Builds (The Best Builds in Dark Souls 3)

Let's take a look at some of the very best, in ascending order. Updated by Michael Connor Smith on July 2nd, In the fantastical lands of the Dark Souls series, humans and beasts alike roam the land with gigantic weaponry, powerful sorcery, and holy miracles to help them survive in such a cruel and unforgiving world.

Miracles take advantage of the Faith stat and harness the power of the Gods themselves. This list was updated to include five additional Miracles that we thought were fitting enough to be on a list of the very best, as Dark Souls 3 has 38 miracles in total, so there are much too many to leave out some truly useful and fun ones.

Spells and Miracles don't necessarily have to be fast to be useful, and the Divine Pillars of Light is a perfect example. While its startup and recovery are quite long, anyone caught in it is going to take a massive amount of damage. This is great to use against opponents with big, slower weapons, as a sort of reversal move to use when someone is being just a little too punishable with their approaching. It's not something you're going to be using often during a fight, but having it in your back pocket at the cost of only one attunement slot is a nasty little trick.

Early on, though, it can be fantastic.

Talismans (Dark Souls III)

Blessed Weapon grants the player a health regeneration that can scale up to five health per second with the right gear for 45 seconds, meaning a total of health restored. The Miracle also boosts physical damage by 7. Unfortunately, it also prevents the player from using Miracles, so anyone with a Miracle-focused build would be unable to really include this in their repertoire.

Those little bonuses can give players the edge they need to survive bosses or cut through enemies just a little faster. Infusing your weapon of choice with magic is definitely one of the most rad things in all of Dark Soulsand the Lightning Blade miracle allows the addition of coursing electricity to it.

There are a few different types of weapon infusion spells and miracles within Dark Souls 3and Lightning Blade, while not the best, still has its variety of uses. It ends up being far more useful in PVE rather than PVP since lighting defense is pretty common, but the extra damage boost given from it is still nothing to scoff at.

This is a very basic spell that has a lot of utility in most forms of combat. It creates a small shockwave that will send close enemies flying away and stun enemies on the edge of its range.

This is great for giving yourself some breathing room if you get swarmed, or to temporarily stun a more difficult opponent. Devious players can also use this to send enemies and other players hurtling off cliffs for an instant kill. It even can be used to block incoming arrows. The miracles Dark Blade and Darkmoon Blade are both strikingly similar in appearance and functionality, so it's difficult to determine which one is the better miracle.

Dark is a great affinity to use in PVP, and the damage will be relatively similar between the two. The damage on Darkmoon Blade might be slightly higher in a lot of cases, but it is far more painstaking to get than Dark Blade, so it largely comes down to personal preference in the end as a good player will be able to get just as much usage out of Dark Blade. This weapon infusion adds magical damage to the given weapon, and the amount of damage dealt after the buff is applied can be pretty insane due to a lot of players having lower magic resistance.

Obtained through the Blades of the Darkmoon Covenant, this miracle requires much more commitment than most. This is one of the most difficult and frustrating miracles to get your hands on, and you'll need to have your build planned out beforehand because of just how much time it takes to acquire.

It should go without saying that even the best players die a lot in Dark Souls 3, and the player will take damage at some point. Soothing Sunlight puts other healing Miracles to shame: with the right equipment, it can heal a whopping 1, health points to you and allies within 15 feet! An improved version of the Force Miracle, the Wrath of God delivers a powerful shockwave that not only knocks opponents down, but deals a good amount of physical damage and damages stamina.

The downside is that with a character at max casting speed the Miracle still takes almost two seconds to cast. Still, for players with good timing, it can be a great way to blast groups of enemies that come rushing at you. Tears of Denial functions similarly, as it allows the user to survive an attack that would otherwise kill them.

Once HP reaches 0, the player can endure another attack without dying, although the FP cost is extremely high at This costly spell is well worth it when it saves you an entire fight, however, so it's a fantastic tool to have in your back pocket. This frightening Miracle is incredibly useful in the game. These biting critters will deal Dark damage and, more importantly, cause Bleed buildup. While most players think of Dark Souls 3 as primarily an action RPG meant to be fought with big bad weaponsthere is a Magic mechanic to the game.

Players need to equip the best weapons, items, magic to battle against the enemies, but to purchase them you need Souls and here is the best way to Farm Souls in Dark Souls 3. The Location shown below will be in between one of the four Lords of Cinder. As you progress in the game your Farming Souls ability will also increase throughout the game.

Starting with which items to equip then you should probably look for the best item which will give you boost on soul increasing, just like the Covetous Silver Serpent Ring with Shield of Want as these items will increase the amount of Souls absorbed on each Kill.

Next is the different Location where you need to Farm the Souls in every 5 minutes. Just before the Abyss Watchers encounter, you can farm approx Souls in every 2 minutes. After killing them all return to the bonfire and let the area reset and repeat the process. All you need to do is head out and then get inside the Sewer on the right and take down all the Spider Creatures which will give you Souls per Kill.

These are extremely easy to defeat so make sure you do a good farming in this area. Another Location at the Irithyll is the Church of Yorksha, you need to run a Lap and kill al the enemies on your way which will yield you approx Souls in every 2 minutes. Again head up the stairs, take left to kill the knight Souls and Finally drop a Summoning sign in front of the Pontiff Sulyvahn then drop down Kill the Final Knight Soulshead to the Bonfire and repeat the same.

This is one of the best places to farm Souls without losing a single health if you know how to backstab properly. Fast travel to the Dragon-kin Mausoleum Bonfire then head inside you see the summoning sign where you get Souls for each kill. Simply stand behind the Summoning Sign and once the enemy is summoned give them the best backstab and repeat the same. Also, you need to take down the Havel of the area first or else he can be summoned.

Once you come out take the left stairs and from the rooftop you can see 3 Winged Knights. Take them one by one as their attacks are very heavy and destructive, but each Winged Knight will reward you Souls and more so definitely this is the fastest and easy Souls Farming Location in Dark Souls 3.

Killing all the Knights in one go will reward you approx Souls. This is definitely worth a try. Source : Youtube. All rights reserved. There are many different builds available in games that allow as much customization as Dark Souls 3.

Introducing the glass cannon. Essentially you will become a powerful yet squishy spell slinger. The Ashen Knight is your basic build created for melee tank and spank game play. You will deal reasonable damage and be able to take a beating.

It does not focus on magic and can carry you through multiple NG cycles as a quality build. This build is all about faith. Few enemies through the game have resistance to lightning and every dragon is weak to it. So get ready to bully those bosses and own on some plebs. We all love our cosplay. What better to play than the most mysterious of characters within the game. Yuria is loyal to the Ashen One if you have treated her friend correctly and will therefore appear in the Firelink Shrine where you have the option to do her questline, allowing you to get her gear at the end of the main story or kill her.

Beware though, she is no small challenge.

This build is fast and offensive. One of the most popular stats in all Dark Souls series is strength. The feeling of power that you have behind the swings of the mightiest weapons is indescribable. The Fume sword is the mightiest of them. It can effectively carry you through the game world.

Stat Goals: During leveling, you want to keep strength, dexterity and endurance pretty equal until maxing out and completing the build. Here we have just touched on five of the most common and powerful of them. Each player can create a build of their own or take one of these. Skip to main content. Level up. Earn rewards. Your XP: 0. Updated: 16 May pm.With a game that requires so much patience, it can be beneficial to use a powerful build to make the rage less frequent.

Besides summoning phantoms for co-op, your main way of improving your damage is to get better weapons or spells. With that in mind, Hexes are still fantastic for players who want plenty of utility with their build.

Want to prevent a boss from doing any special attacks?

Use Vow of Silence. Want to make an enemy instantly bleed? Using Dorhy's Gnawing. It's a very versatile school of magic that veteran players should try. Upgrade your faith and intelligence evenly, trying to hit at least 30 in each stat.

It is worth the effort required, even if the build only starts to come together towards the end of a playthrough. Both are included in the same entry because there is quite a bit of overlap between the two. Being hallow allows the player to utilize hallow gems for their weapons, scaling bleed stats based on luck. Bleed is a status effect players can inflict on enemies and some bosses, dealing a percentage of damage to their health bar and staggering the target.

Rapid attacking weapons usually come with this effect intrinsically, so most bleed builds go for some dexterity to use these rapid attacking weapons.

Luck also scales the strength of bleed in this build, so grab as much of that and as many hallowed stacks as possible. When done properly, you can stagger most bosses in the game and rapidly defeat tanky enemies.

It's pretty good in PvP too. Clerics are characters that focus heavily on faith, casting lightning spells and healing cantrips to get the upper edge in any fight. They can still be formidable in PvE, however. Sunlight Spear and Lightning Stake can take care of anything close or at range respectively. Pure mage characters take a long time to come "online"—capable of finishing the game comfortably.

When they do, mages can do nearly anything the player would want. You can either focus on a pure mage build, allocating most of your levels in intelligence and attunement, or you can run a hybrid build with strength of dexterity.

For the former, look out for the Crystal Sage's Staff and any Crystal spells. If you are playing a hybrid build, check out the Moonlight Greatsword. It's partially for the heals, but I've also always loved Lightning Spear! The idea of forming a spear of lightning out of the air and throwing it in my enemy's face is strangely gratifying. Even though I was quite disappointed in the line of Miracles in this installment, I still stuck to my guns.

Rather than respec, I built up my faith and decided I could just play my next character a bit differently.

Unfortunately, faith draws the short straw in terms of the number of scaling weapons we have access to. I'm a fan of spear weapons, although they usually aren't my go-to.

Why use a weapon with just one pointy end when you can have a weapon with TWO pointy ends? This one is fun, and its weapon art is a charging attack akin to a lance.

This bad boy doesn't scale with faith, BUT it is infused with lightning. It's kinda strange though, because looking at the stats doesn't show lightning damage.

That said, it has a nice moveset it is a straight sword, after all. The weapon art casts Oath of Sunlight, which is a buff similar to that of Sacred Oath.

Another strange one. Luckily, it scales pretty well with faith. It's basically a faith-based staff. The weapon art is called Steady Chant, which boosts Sorceries for a short period of time. If you're playing a build with both faith and sorceries, this may be a good option. I personally didn't really end up using it though.

It comes with the both the Blessed infusion and Hollow infusion.

HAPPY SOULS

So it slowly regenerates your health and keeps skeletons from respawning like a Blessed weapon, but the Hollow infusion helps it scale from the luck stat. This is a fun one.Join VIP to remove all ads and videos.

Talismans are wielded in order to cast Miracles. These items were not present in Dark Souls 2, but make a return here. The most commonly found Skill among them, Unfaltering Prayerdifferentiates them from Chimes and turns them towards PvP use.

Not meeting the Faith requirement for the Talisman will drop the spell buff to a flat Please edit page with real numbers once faith requirement is met. There are three "levels" of hyperarmor that talismans can grant with their WA.

I've confirmed this myself through testing and so have plenty of other people if you browse around. The Saint's Talisman offers the lowest level of hyperarmor. I don't know the exact value but it's not enough to tank even a single two handed great sword swing. They all have the same poise value; there is no difference and you can discover this yourself through proper testing.

People keep assuming that the Talisman must be worse than the Canvas Talisman because the Talisman is a starter item while the Canvas Talisman is not. That's simply not true and the only difference between the two are their spellbuffs at different faith levels.

The Sunlight Talisman offers the highest level of poise. Again, I don't know how much it is exactly but it's a lot, enough to tank multiple ultra-great weapon hits. So i run a pure faith build currently on new game 7.

Started as a faith dex build and never looked back. Yorshkas for range. Sunlight for up close. No debates thats all there is to it.

For dark Sunless for up close. Scythe Cathias for range.
